Margaret E. "Margie" Johnson, 81, of Burlington, died at 10:56 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born June 24, 1928, in Bladensburg, she was the daughter of Roy C. and Nellie A. Wilcox. On November 11, 1944, she married Lee A. Johnson in Bloomfield. He died August 27, 1990. Mrs. Johnson worked at Snappy Service at Sixth and Jefferson Streets, at Winegard, and at Conifer, all in Burlington. She was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where she volunteered in the kitchen for many years. She enjoyed quilting and cooking. Survivors include niece, Stephanie Rickeberg of Burlington; and other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Burlington. The body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mrs. Johnson will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Food and fellowship will follow at the church. A memorial has been established for the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ scholarship fund. Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
