Edith Marie Rieke, 82, of Davenport and formerly of Cedar Rapids and Burlington, died Saturday, February 9, 2013. Her family and friends will host a Celebration of Life in her honor at the Quad City Botanical Garden on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
The Celebration will be held in the Burbank and Leopold rooms, with a video presentation and refreshments served starting at 3 PM; the service will begin at 4 PM. Ample free parking can be found at the Garden, located at 2525 - 4th Avenue, Rock Island, IL 61201
Following nearly 37 years with the Job Service of Iowa, Ms. Rieke retired in 1992. Her service included job placement in Burlington and Cedar Rapids, and the management of the Davenport, then Clinton offices.
There will be a private burial in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to public radio and TV, the American Cancer Society and Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel).
