Ila Vandella Johnsen, 91, of Bedford, Ind., formerly of Mediapolis, died at 12:04 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 in White River Lodge in Bedford. Born March 17, 1915, in Mediapolis, she was the daughter of George Gallatin and Lemma Hazel Nichols Andrews. On March 21, 1936, she married Paul Johnsen in Burlington. He preceded her in death July 5, 1996. She attended schools in Morning Sun. She was a housewife and factory worker. She attended Presbyterian Church in Mediapolis and in Morning Sun. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include one sister, Shirley Templeton of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters and one brother. There will be no family visitation. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel today from 12 noon until 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Graveside committal services for Mrs. Johnsen will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with the Rev. William C. Saizman officiating.
