Georgia M. Jocobson, 86, of Burlington, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009, at her home. Born July 12, 1922, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George and Althea Harbaugh Hartman. On August 21, 1940, she married Harry A. Jacobson in Le Mars. He died October 18, 2006. Mrs. Jacobson worked for 10 years at Montgomery Wards in the credit department. She attended Burlington schools. She was a life member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Great River Medical Center Auxiliary. She volunteered knitting baby hats and booties for Great River Medical Center. Survivors include one son, Tom Jacobson of Burlington; one granddaughter; one step-granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one sister, Trene Fausel of Burlington; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated. The graveside service for Mrs. Jacobson will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with the Rev. Carl J. Engstrom officiating. A memorial has been established for Great River Medical Center Auxiliary. Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
