Obituary
Naomi Ellen "Sally" Jamison, 92, of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, died at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at home, where she resided with her youngest daughter, Rhonda, for almost 12 years.
Born January 17, 1924 in Schuyler County, Illinois, she was the daughter of Arthur and Maydee (Perkins) Wise. On July 19, 1947, she married John Jamison in Jacksonville, Illinois. He died on April 17, 1999.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sally served as a deacon. She had been a member of the Presbyterian Women Circle 1 and attended the Gems fellowship group.
Sally devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She thoroughly enjoyed family activities and gatherings. She shared many vacations with her beloved husband to reunions of his 78th U.S. Naval CB Unit, as well as their travels throughout the country. She was an avid reader and created beautiful needlework. Having been an excellent cook, Sally's family especially looked forward to her homemade pies and Christmas candies.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Graham) Sharp of Omaha, NE, and Rhonda Jamison of St. Louis Park, MN; two grandsons, John (wife, Heidi) Sharp and Matthew Sharp, both of Omaha, NE; four great granddaughters, Olivia, Madeline, Sarah and Alice; brother-in-law George (wife, Helen) Jamison of Taylorville, IL; cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister, Wilma; her brothers, Forrest and Leslie.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Lunning Funeral Chapel, 2620 Mt. Pleasant Street, Burlington, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. that evening.
The funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, 321 North 5th Street, with the Rev. Deb Kinney officiating.
Burial will take place immediately following the service in Aspen Grove Cemetery,
2043 Sunnyside Avenue, Burlington, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, Iowa or the Salvation Army.
