Mr. James "Jim" LeRoy, Inman, 78, of Burlington died at 1:42 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Great River Medical Center surrounded by family.
Born February 16, 1938 in Keithsburg, IL he was the son of James Raymond and Lola Mildred Munson Inman. On August 20, 1955, he married Ruth Geraldine Jones in Aledo, IL. They later divorced. On July 12, 1968, he married Zelda "Sam" Caroline Ehlers Kienast in Aledo.
Mr. Inman was a machine operator and then supervisor for six years for Champion International Paper Co., retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, coordinator for the Lutheran Brotherhood, Sunday school superintendent and taught third and fourth grades about the Bible on Wednesday nights at the church.
"Jim" was a Country Western Musician playing lead guitar and singer in the band "Jim Inman and the Westerners", he also played for the "Gong Show" for seven years in a row at the Burlington Steamboat Days.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, "Sam" Inman of Burlington; four sons, Darrell Inman of Sherrard, IL, Raymond (Sarah) Inman of Viola, IL, Ronald (Margie) Kienast and John (Kimberly) Kienast both of Burlington; five daughters, Alicia Inman of Goofy Ridge, IL, Elaine (Tom) Rountree of Milan, IL, Jami (Elliott) Bell of Gotha, FL, and Vickie (Gregory) Lee and Linda (Gary) Virgin both of Burlington; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Ehlers of Arcadia, IA and Judy Inman of Aledo, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donnie Inman; daughter, Lori Kienast; daughter in infancy, Kristi; two brothers, Bobby Inman and Ron Inman; two sisters, Edna Pullen and Shirley Kohl and two brothers in infancy.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 31st, at Concordia Lutheran Church.
The funeral service for Mr. Inman will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1st, at Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Roepke officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Concordia Lutheran Church and the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Senior Citizens Center.
A celebration of life service with food and fellowship following the committal service will be held at the Eagles Club.
