Mr. Jack Bowman, 64, of Burlington died at 6:55 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015, at Danville Care Center.
Born May 13, 1951 in Burlington, he was the son of Harold Joseph and Esther May (McGinity) Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was an Army National Guard (Retired) veteran serving during Desert Storm. He also served in the Marine Reserves. He worked at Exide for 19 years, Catfish Bend Casino for 10 years and was a breakfast and prep cook for Stonegate Grill and a cook at Sunnybrook Assisted Living. He was a member of the Salvation Army, D.A.V. and English River Outfitters and he enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, crafts, making blue jean quilts, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his partner of 40 years, Lyle "Jim" Hutchings of Burlington; five brothers, Richard Bowman, David Bowman and Harold Bowman Jr. all of Burlington; Robert Bowman of New London and Jerry Bowman of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin; one sister, Margaret Krieger of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal, and maternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21st, at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Bowman will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 22nd, at Lunning Chapel. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites.
Memorials have been established for Disabled American Veterans and English River Outfitters.
