Mrs. Zola V. Hunter, 95, of Bloomfield and formerly of Autumn Heights in Burlington died at 4:48 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, at Davis Center in Bloomfield.
Born March 4, 1920 in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of Henry and Helen (Foster) Carper. On February 6, 1951 she married Alex Hunter in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1971.
Mrs. Hunter was a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, R.S.V.P. and A.A.R.P.
Survivors include one son; Raylin Hunter of Ione, California; two grandchildren; and two half brothers, David Carper of Quincy, Illinois and Paul Carper of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hunter will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 6th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Gary Karas officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Oak Street Baptist Church.
