Frances A. Hunger, 92, of Gassville, Ark., died Sunday, July 15, 2007. Born July 4, 1915, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George and Althea Harbough Hartman. On June 9, 1937, she married Ralph Hunger in Burlington. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Hunger was active in her church all her years as a pastor's wife, including a long tenure at St. Phillipus' United Church of Christ in Chicago. An artist, she enjoyed painting, sewing and baking and decorating wedding cakes. She lived in Arkansas since 1998, where she and her husband returned after his retirement. Survivors include one son, Dennis Hunger of Gassville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Trene Fausel and Georgia Jacobsen; and two nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. A private committal service will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established for St. Luke United Church of Christ of Burlington. Twin Lakes Cremation Society and Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Ark., is in charge of arrangements.
