Obituary
Mrs. Hilda Anna Berges, 73-year-old Burlington organist died in Burlington hospital at 11:30 am on Sunday. Her home was at 1203 N. Eighth. Death terminated a long illness.
Mrs. Berges was choir director and organist at First United Church of Christ for 39 years and musical director for Prugh’s Chapel for 20 years.
A life resident of Burlington, Mrs. Berges was born Jan. 31, 1892, the daughter of Peter and Mary Keller Ruff. She was married to Mr. Oscar H. Berges in Burlington on September 27, 1911. He survives, as does a sister, Mrs. Flora Jordan of West Palm Beach, Fla. Two brothers died in infancy. A sister also died previously.
Rev. Donald V. Klohr, pastor of First United Church of Christ will conduct last rites at 2 pm Wednesday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10 am Wednesday until time for the service. The body is at Prugh’s chapel.
