Obituary
Herman H. Berges, 71, years old and a native of Burlington, died at his home, 1709 Lincoln Street, at 7:40 this morning, after three weeks of illness.
Mr. Berges was born in Burlington, March 4, 1855, and has lived here all his life, except 12 years, which he spent in Monmouth as an employee of the gas company there. On his return to Burlington, he accepted a position with the Northwestern Cabinet Co., in the finishing department.
Mr. Berges married Lyzetta Young, who preceded him in death in 1917. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical church.
Surviving are two daughters, Bertha and Elza, at home; one son, Henry C. of Burlington; two sisters Mrs. L Loose, and Mrs. William Krueger, of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, by Rev. J.H. Buescher. The body will be interred in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
