Lois Jean Kobs, 54, of Burlington, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at her home. Born October 20, 1949, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert Richard and Laura Ann Stoller Humpton. On August 17, 1987, she married Edward Kobs in Burlington. Mrs. Kobs was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She loved being outdoors, crocheting and making afghans. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Amy Blythe of Bettendorf and Megan Mehaffy of Burlington; one stepson, Mark Kobs of Burlington; two granddaughters; two sisters Mary Bailey of Burlington and Susan Burgess of Shueyville: two brothers, James Humpton of Kalona, Iowa and Thomas Humpton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service Friday. The funeral for Mrs. Kobs will be at 2 p.m. Friday December 12, 2003 at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Kendall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
