Harry L. Ashway, 85, formerly of Burlington, died in a Seal Beach, Calif., hospital Wednesday, April 9. He was born at Galesburg, Ill., Jan. 1, 1895, the son of Lewis and Christina Lay Ashway. He married Martha Temple on June 20, 1920, in Burlington, she died July 7, 1971. He married Gladys Flint on Dec. 22, 1976. He owned and operated his own insurance company in Santa Monica, Calif for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic lodges, a 50-year member of Malta Lodge No. 1, Burlington, Knights of Templar and Shrines of California. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the American Legion. Surviving: His wife, one daughter, Betty Jean Gladhart, Santa Monica; one sister, Ruth M. Ashway, Burlington, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Committal services will be at Aspen Grove cemetery at a time to be announced,
