Harry D. AShby,80, of 212 S. Adams St., Burlington, died at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Nov. 1, 1913, in Wapello, he was the son of John and Rosanna Lamb Ashby. On Sept. 2, 1939, he married Dorothy Riley in Washington. Mr. A hby worked in maintenance at the Hotel Burlington, for the Burlington Milk Producer Co-op for 15 years, at J.I. Case Co. for the 15 years and was an independent truck driver for the rock quarry near Kingston. He was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Daryl, James and Melvin, all of Burlington, and Larry of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Linda Sue Smith and Donna Heland, both of Burlington; one step-daughter, Audrey Klinkerman of Denver, Colo.; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother Robert Ashby of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends between 7 and 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Ashby will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with Chaplain Shirley Bliven officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
