Harley John Ashby, 65, Burlington Rt. 1, died Saturday, June 18, at his home after an extended illness. He was born July 16, 1917 in Wapello, to Harvery and Edna Knox Ashby. He married Ruth Walker in Oquawka, Ill. on Dec. 8, 1933. Mr. Ashby formerly ran John's Open Air Market, on South US 61. He was of the Protestant faith. Surviving: his wife; a son, Harvery, New London; a daughter, Geraldine Dufort, Santa Monica, Calif.; a sister, Belva Tee, Oquawka, Ill.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral; 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Prugh's Chapel, Dr. Robert Buhr, Aspen Grove Cemetery.
