Virginia Lucille Honts, 85, of Danville, formerly of Burlington, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Great River Medical Center. She recently resided at Danville Care Center. Born Nov. 23, 1921, near Winfield, she was the daughter of Clifford and Muriel Hall Gruver. On Nov. 23, 1941, she married Lee "Tooley" Honts in Mount Pleasant. He died Dec. 1, 2002. She was a 1940 graduate of Winfield High School. She worked at Klein Hospital in Burlington. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ and Kings Daughters. Survivors include two sons, Gary Honts of Evansdale and Vincent Honts of Bettendorf; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepsister, Wanda Linder of Winfield; one special niece, Marcia Glasgow of Burlington; and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, two sisters, one brother and two stepbrothers. Visitation with family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke United Church of Christ. The funeral for Mrs. Honts will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke United Church of Christ in Burlington with the Rev. Vicki Engelmann officiating. Interment will follow in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for St. Luke United Church of Christ. Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis is in charge of the arrangements.
