Elizabeth J. Holstein former Burlington resident died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Brookestone Meadows Rehab & Care Center, Elkhorn, Nebraska. She was born January 10, 1918 at Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Harry J. and Keo C. Glantz Schnicker. On November 21, 1943 she married Robert Earl Holstein in Burlington, Iowa. He died February 23, 1999. She was a nurse at Burlington Hospital and Philadelphia Hospital. Elizabeth was a member of the P.E.0, Jane A Delano Nurses Society and the First Congregational Church. She is survived by two sons, James (Elisabeth) Holstein of Springfield, Illinois and Richard (Maureen) Holstein of Omaha, Nebraska. One sister Keo M. Nelson of Burlington, Iowa. One grandson Ben Holstein and two granddaughters Katherine and Samantha Holstein. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and parents. Funeral Services will be held in Prugh's Chapel, Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jim Francisco will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the First Congregational Church.
