Clark L. Holmberg, 69, of Winter Haven, Florida, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at home.
Born Jan. 4, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Jack and Pauline Clark Beckman Holmberg.
Mr. Holmberg held several safety engineering positions with oil companies in Texas and traveled the world conducting safety inspections at oil refineries. His last job was with Citgo in Saudi Arabia and he was called back to the U.S. after Sept. 11, 2001, retiring in Winter Haven. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He then graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
He was a 1966 graduate of West Burlington High School and was of the Methodist faith. He was a long-time race car fan and built one of his own to race.
Survivors include two daughters, Angie Haine and Stacy Butler, both of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; one sister, Judy Jackson of Burlington; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Following cremation in Florida, a memorial service for Mr. Holmberg will be at a later date. Burial with military rites will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
