Theodore Davis Hollingsworth, 96, of Burlington, died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center Klein Unit. Born December 3, 1902, in Rozetta, Ill., he was the son of Courtney and Annabel Reynolds Hollingsworth. On September 26, 1929, he married Mildred Genevieve Green in Nashua. She died April 3, 1998. Mr. Hollingsworth worked as a lumberyard hand in Yarmouth, and as a security guard at Champion Spark Plug of Burlington. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Burlington. He belonged to Yarmouth Gun Club, was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, and loved to play pool and win. Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Ann Miller of Burlington, LaVonda Mae McDonald of Greeley, Colo., and Nancy Lou Mehaffy of Henderson, Nev.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Cleo E. Hollingsworth of Mediapolis; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, nine brothers, and one granddaughter. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8;30 p.m. The funeral for Mr.Hollingsworth will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for First United Methodist Church.
