George Francis Hogan, 89, of Burlington, died at 6:54 AM, Friday, March 10, 2006, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born December 30, 1916, in Niota, IL, he was the son of John D. and Florence A. Boddeker Hogan. On August 8, 1942, he married Violet O. Gerling in East Hartford, CT. She died June 22, 1997. Mr. Hogan was in Real Estate. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was of the Catholic Faith. Survivors included two brothers, John D. Hogan and Bernard Hogan, both of Niota, IL; four sisters, Mary Scheetz of Nauvoo , IL, Cecelia Richards of Danville, IA, Cleta Beimer of Ft. Madison, IA, and Martha Galbraith of West Point, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. per the request of Mr. Hogan his body has been cremated. There will be no visitation. The Graveside Committal Service and Inurnment for Mr. Hogan will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 13, 2006, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Rev. Father Gerald E. Stouvenel officiating. A memorial has been established.
