Obituary
Mrs. Virginia R. Hoffman, 90 of Davenport and formerly of Burlington died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2016, at Lutheran Homes in Davenport.
Born September 17, 1925 in Sperry, she was the daughter of George and Rose (Johnson) Laue. On April 7, 1951 she married Edward Hoffman in Mediapolis. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1995.
Mrs. Hoffman was a graduate of Sperry High School and attended Burlington Business College. She worked at the Boy Scout Office, Bell Investments and also as a cashier at Gnahn's Book Store.
Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary where she also served as treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting.
Survivors include one son, Michael Hoffman of Warren, PA; two daughters, Rosanne Goble of Danville, VA and Deborah Stevenson of Davenport; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one brother, Leo Laue of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Duane Laue and two sisters, Helen Laue and Dorothy Peterson.
Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Thursday, January 28th, at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hoffman will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 29th, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church, Lutheran Home of Davenport and University of Iowa Neurosurgery and Oncology.
