Lorraine V. Hockett, 94, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died at 7:20 PM Sunday, May 6, 2018, in Kansas City, at the Garden Terrace at Overland Park in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Born January 28, 1924, in Iowa, she was the daughter of Daniel and Marie (Fitzgerald) McLaughlin. On January 13, 1945, she married Lee P. Hockett in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He later passed May 18, 2001.
She was of Catholic faith, and a member of Divine Mercy Parish-SS, Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington.
Survivors include one son, Randall L. (Elisa) Hockett of Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Dominick Hockett, Brett Hockett, and Danielle Hockett and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary Abel and Linda Clayton; and one brother, Patrick McLaulghlin.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rita and Joann, and two brothers, Daniel and Eugene.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Hockett will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2018, at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington with Rev. Father Bill Roush as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir led by Amanda Mansheim. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the St. Mary's Parish Center following the burial.
