Emil Christian Christensen, 83 of 1820 Agency, died at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Klein hospital. A native of the country of Denmark, he was born Nov. 18, 1894, to Frederick and Elizabeth M. jorgensen Christensen. He served in the U.S.Army during World War I. He married Lucy Leidig July 28, 1920, at Burlington; she died Oct. 29, 1968. He was a retired meat cutter. He was a member of First Church of the Open Bible and Des Moines Lodge No. 1, AF&AM. Surviving: Daughter, Mrs. Ralph J. (Betty) Hobbs, Burlington, with whom he made his home; four brothers, Wilhelm, Kjertman, Knud and Jeorge, all of Denmark; sister, Mrs. Ethel Jacobsen, Denmark, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
