Patricia Marie Brobston, 67, of Burlington, died at 10:00 PM Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home. Born January 20, 1947, in Iowa City, IA, she was the daughter of Howard Owen and Evon Lucetta Ferrell Brobston. Patricia worked at Lance (Midwest Biscuit Co.) for 20 years. She then became the head lunch lady for the Burlington Community School District, starting at Horace Mann Junior High School and continuing until it caught fire and was tore down. She went on to work at several other schools but was working at Corse Elementary when she was overcome with illness. While working at the schools she also worked part-time for Blair House and Sunnybrook helping to serve meals. She was a graduate of West Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College. Pat enjoyed kids, her family, and could get along with anyone. She was loved by all that met her and knew her. She had a wonderful personality and was fun to be with. Survivors include one son, Beto Miguel Renteria of Iowa City; three brothers, Kenneth Brobston of Vermont, IL, Dennis Brobston of West Burlington, and David Brobston of Dallas City, IL; and several nieces and nephews and her lifetime companion Roberto Renteria of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Howard (Bud) Brobston, Jr. and Raymond (Tony) Brobston. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory. A private graveside committal service for Mrs. Brobston will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Aspen Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice.
