Melissa Jane Hoambrecker, 59, of Burlington, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at her home. Born January 26, 1950, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Wesley Vernard and Madeline Melvina Beavers Cooper. On February 13, 1971, she married Mike Hoambrecker in Burlington. Mrs. Hoambrecker worked 36 years at Winegard Co. She was a 1968 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She enjoyed flower gardening. Survivors include her husband; one son, Eric Hoambrecker of Burlington; one daughter, Sarah Jane Hoam- brecker of Burlington; six grandchildren; her mother of Burlington; three brothers, Larry Cooper of Slidell, LA, and Terry Cooper and Randy Cooper both of Burlington; six sisters, Dolores Wright of Roseville, Minn., Judy Gabriel of Des Moines, Marla Starman, Marilyn Beik and Melodee Kennedy all of Burlington, and Cheryl Clouse of Ottumwa; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Hoambrecker will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington, with the Rev. Jane Willan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
