Inez A. Armstrong, 82, of 901 S. 8th St., died at 11:17 a.m. Friday, December 13, 1991, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Born Aug. 8, 1909, in Olena, Ill., she was the daughter of Irving and Maude Long Burrell. She married Howard S. Armstrong Nov. 23, 1952, in Oquawka, Ill.She was a longtime employee of Hotel Burlington. She was a member of the Burlington Gym Auxiliary, AARP, Women of the Mosse 587, VFW Auxiliary Post 10102, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary 165 and a lifetime member of Musicians Local 265. She was the protestant faith. Survivors include her husband; one son Bill Swink, Burlington; two sisters, Ruby Pease, Burlington, and Eva McIntyre, Olena, Ill.; one nephew and one niece. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel where Moose rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Armstrong will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Lunning Chapel wiht the Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
