Beulah M. Barnes, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 1:50 pm Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1993, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1916, in Kirksville, Mo., she was the daughter of Levi A. and Sarah c. Derry Moore. She married Frank M. Toney on July 9, 1935, in Edina, Mo. He died Sept. 5, 1950. She later married Eugene Barnes on Aug. 14, 1976, at Pacifica, Calif.
She was raised in the Kirksville, Mo., area. She moved to Burlington in 1945, then to Pacifica, Calif., in 1965, to Mt. Pleasant in 1976, back to California in 1989, and recently back to Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Donna M. Toney Wise of T. Pleasant; a son, Glen F. Toney of Lancaster, Calif.; a brother, Orville L. Moore of Morning Sun; a sister, Gladys B. Moore Schwind of Edina, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin after noon Thursday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 pm at Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant.
The funeral for Mrs. Barnes will be 1:30 pm Friday at Beatty Funeral Home with the Rev. Monte Knudsen officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
