James G. Arledge, 2320 Mason Road, 89-year-old retired president of Arledge Transfer Co., died in Klein Memorial Hospital at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. He was born Dec. 7, 1895, in Montague County,Bowie, Texas to Knute G. and Emma T. Davis Arledge. He married Mary Ellen Hills Dec. 7, 1914, in Lawton, Okla.; she died Oct. 6, 1982. Mr. Arledge was a pioneer trucker, beginning in 1920. He was a past president of Local 218 of the Teamsters Union and of Des Moines County Saddle Club.He was a former manager of semi-professional baseball teams. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving: A son, Arnold G., Burlington; two half brothers, Willie and Ira Jordon, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and four grandchildren. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel. the Rev. Philip S. Windsor; Aspen Grove Cemetery
