Frances C. "Fran" Arledge, 85, of Burlington, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, in Burlington. Born Sept. 7, 1917, in Bagley, Iowa, she was the daughter of Albert and Etta A. Vaux Moorman. On May 6, 1939, she married Arnold G. Arledge in Burlington. Mrs. Arledge was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Questers and Burlington Women's Club. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Jacobs of Burlington; two sons, John Arledge of Burlington and James Arledge of Grandbury, Texas, six grandchildren, Mark Fleming, Jeff Jacobs, Ken Arledge, Jerrod Arledge, Jennifer Arledge, and Ben Arledge, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, JoAnn Arias, her parents, and two brothers, Max Moorman and Orlo Moorman.Visitation will be between 7 and 8:30 p.m. this evening in the chapel at Prugh Funeral Service. The funeral for Mrs. Arledge will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Methodist Church with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established for the YMYWCA Youth Scholarship Fund.
