Betty Jo Herrill, 80, of Pella, formerly of New London and Burlington, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Pella Regional Health Center. Born July 10, 1920, in Bucklin, MO, she was the daughter of Fred and Maggie Harrington Crippin. On Nov. 1, 1947, she married Merle Richard Herrill in Burlington. He died July 14, 1989. Mrs. Herrill was a member of United Methodist Church. She devoted her life to her family, and enjoyed crocheting and following the Chicago Cubs. She lived in Pella for the past nine years. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Garvey of Pella, and Cindy Murphy of West Burlington; two grandchildren; and one brother, J.B. Crippin of Marceline, MO. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Herrill will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been estalished for the Pella Regional Health Center In-Care Unit.
