Geneva Eileen Henthorn, 83, of Burlington, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at her home. Born October 12, 1921, in Baring Missouri, she was the daughter of Stephen Gary and Edith Mitten Mayer. She first married Carl Otis Allen. They later divorced. On December 1, 1969, she married Le Roy G. Henthorn in Kahoka, Missouri. He died January 6, 2005. Mrs. Henthorn was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Allen-Harian of Burlington; two sons, Carl R. Allen of Burlington and Larry D. Allen of New London, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marguerite Gregory of Kahoka, Missouri; four half sisters, Elizabeth Menke of Fort Madison, Norma Mayer and Phyllis Mayer, both of Baring, Missouri, and Janet Moore of Hurdland, Missouri; two half brothers, Stephen Mayer of Unionville, Missouri and Paul Mayer of Kirksville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service Friday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Henthorn will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Maurice Moore officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
