L. G. "Gus" Henthorn, 80, of Burlington, died at 11:35 P.M. Thursday, January 6, 2005, at the Marshalltown Veteran's Home.
Born September 22, 1924, in Burlington, he was the son of Estrus LeRoy and Norma Courts Henthorn. On December 1, 1969, he married Geneva E. Mayer in Kahoka, Missouri.
Mr. Henthorn worked as an electrician and maintenance foreman at J. I. Case Co. for 30 years.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of American Legion, VFW, Masonic Lodge and 40 & 8 Park.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Michelle Allen-Harian of Burlington; two step-sons, Carl R. Allen of Burlington and Larry D. Allen of New London; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
