Fredericka "Frieda" Theresa Hemann, 95, of Burlington, Iowa, died at Blair House Nursing & Rehab, Burlington, Iowa, on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at 12:15 a.m. Born on August 25, 1915, in Elgin, Illinois, she was the daughter of Samuel and Theresa Bruner Schranz. She married Paul Hemann on June 10, 1937, in Burlington, Iowa. He died on December 19, 2004. In addition to helping her husband develop and maintain a cabinet making business, Fredericka was particularly gifted in sales work. She worked in Sales at Schramm's for 35 years, and 10 years at Carson-Pirie-Scott. She was sales person of the year numerous times at Schramm's. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and was a devoted gardener. She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Richard Hemann of Albany, California; one daughter, Marcia (John) Moeller of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren, Hans (Christin) of Sacramento, California, Dietrick (Megumi) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Clarissa of Sequim, Washington, and Erik of Salem, Oregon; three great-grandchildren, Hans and Max of Wisconsin, and Braedon of California; two sisters; one sister-in-law, Ruth of Burlington, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, four sisters, and three brothers. Memorial services for Fredericka Theresa Hemann will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel. Rev. Vicki Engelmann will officiate. Interment of ashes will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for The Fund of Paul & Fredericka Hemann, St. Luke United Church of Christ.
