Obituary

Georgia June Schmeiser, 90, of Burlington, traded this earth for Heaven to meet her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Schmeiser, and her heavenly Father. Georgia fought a brave battle after having a successful leg artery bypass surgery, but her body had been through enough and her heart longed for Heaven. So on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 6:50 AM, she met her heavenly Father, now pain free. Born May 23, 1921, in Missouri, she was the daughter of Frank Ellis and Laura Peterson Jones. On May 23, 1940, she married Kenneth Samuel Schmeiser at Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington. He died on Sunday, October 8, 1995. Georgia had been a beautician before she had children and then she was a homemaker. She graduated from Burlington High School and Burlington Beauty School. She attended Burlington Foursquare Gospel Church, where she often still sang specials. Her life revolved around prayer, her children and the word of God. Survivors include one daughter, Lynn (Larry) Carlson of Burlington; two sons, Doran (Debbie) Schmeiser of Burlington, and Mel (Sandy) Schmeiser of Nixa, MO; seven grandchildren, Skylar Schmeiser, Shaun (Julie) Schmeiser, Shawna (Jamie) Hunerdosse, Shannon (Jarett) Walker, Tyler Potts, Monte (Rayne) Schmeiser, and Angie Schmeiser; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Floyd "Toad" John of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Frank Jones, and one sister, Virginia Hanrahan. Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mrs. Schmeiser will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Fratt officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Foursquare Gospel Church following the interment. A memorial has been established for Foursquare Gospel Church
