Phillip T. Anhalt Sr., 72, of 1813 South 12th Street, died at 3:35 a.m. Monday, June 4, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born January 1, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of William F. and Bessie Viola Thomas. He married Jean Edna Bischoff August 22, 1942, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Burlington.
He was an equipment mechanic for TRW/IRC for 24 years and for Klein Manufacturing Company for 11 years before retiring.
He was co-founder of the Burlington Arpa Alzheimers Support Group. He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ and the Circle Square B Square Dance Club.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Vicky (Robert) Richards, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Linda (Michael) Davis, Wapello; two sons, Phillip "Tom" Anhalt, Burlington, and William A. Anhalt, Washington; two sisters, Genevieve "Peg" Thompson, San Diego, California, Winifred E. Hartman, New London; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel.
The service for Mr. Anhalt will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel with the Reverend Darryl Bockting officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.Funeral services for Mr. Phillip T. Anhalt Sr., who passed away June 4, 1990, were held in Prugh's Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 PM. He was the son of William F. and Nessie Viola Thomas Anhalt. He was an equipment mechanic, employed at Klein Mfg. Co. for 11 years and retired from TRW/IRC after 24 years service. A memorial has been established for the Burlington Area Alzheimers Support Group.
