Funeral for Michael Dennis Hazell, 18. of 1330 N. Sixth. who died Monday, July 21, will be at Lunning Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dr. C. Raymond Reed; Aspen Grove cemetery with military rites.
Mr. Hazell was pronounced dead at University hospitals. Iowa City, at 9:30 a.m. of injuries he suffered in a Mississippi river boating accident near Burlington Saturday. A memorial has
been established.
He was born here Nov. 2. 1961. to Michael and Donna Hagerla Hazell. In 1980 he graduated from Burlington high school where, as a member of the building trades class, he helped build a house. He enlisted in the Air Force, qualified as an expert marksman and became a squad leader at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. At the time of his death, he was on leave en route
to Lake Mead AFB, Nev. He was a member of the United Methodist church and the YMCA.
Surviving: The parents, brothers James and Robert and sisters Michele and Lisa, all at home: and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Hazell. Cherokee Village. Ark.. and Mrs. Rolland Hagerla, West Burlington.
