Obituary

Lloyd A. Andries, 86, formerly of Burlington, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at the Danville Care Center. Born Feb. 2, 1914, in Pleasant Grove Township of Des Moines County, rural New London, he was the son of Frank A. and Myrtle Marshall Andries. He married Mildred Dunham Nov. 3, 1934, at Monmouth, Ill. She dies May 15, 1994. Mr. Andries has been a mechanic, and owned and operated Lloyd's Brake Service in Burlington for over 50 years. He was a member of the Our Savior Evangelical Church in Burlington. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include one son. Robert Andries of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Andries of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a grandson, three sisters, and two brothers. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Andries will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Plocher officiating. Burial will follow at the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for the Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church.
