Thomas Charles Hassel, 50, of Burlington, died at his home at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005. Born June 16, 1955 in Burlington, he was the son of Arthur Arnold and Betty Lou Stroup Hassel. He was previously married to Jackie Doran. Mr. Hassel was a production worker at General Electric in Burlington for many years. He was a 1973 graduate of Burlington High School. He was of the First Christian Faith. He loved Iowa sports and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He was a collector of sport cards and was an excellent woodworker. Survivors include one son, Ryan (Megan) Hassel of Waukee; one daughter, Megan Ann Hassel of Clive; one granddaughter Kamari; one brother, William (Karen) Hassel of Burlington; and one sister, Susan (Steve) Hamler of Racine, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial has been established.
