Gerald P. Hasenkamp, 64, of Longmont, Colo., died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at his home. Born March 30, 1943, in Burlington, he was the son of Melvin and Pauline Hitchcock Hasenkamp. On Feb. 9, 1963, he married Dee Darnell in Galesburg, Ill. Mr. Hasenkamp was a radiation control technologist for Rocky Flats and retired in 2003. He graduated from Sperry High School in 1961. He moved to Longmont from Burlington in 1990. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington, Longmont Lodge No. 1548 Loyal Order of the Moose and the Steelworks Union. He enjoyed restoring cars and was an accomplished woodworker. Survivors include his wife; one son, DeWayne D. Hasenkamp of Longmont; one daughter, Tamara Hasenkamp of Thornton, Colo.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Hasenkamp of Clinton and James Hasenkamp of Warrenton, Mo.; and one sister, Donna Bogner of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mr. Hasenkamp will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
