Dee Hasenkamp, 67, of Longmont, Colorado passed away June 15, 2013 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born September 8, 1945 in Burlington, Iowa to Cyril and Ava (Lough) Darnell.
Dee graduated from Burlington Community High School in 1963.
Dee married Gerald P. Hasenkamp on February 9, 1963 in Galesburg, Illinois. They moved to Longmont in 1990. She was a homemaker and secretary for The Girl Scouts of America in Burlington. After moving to Longmont she worked for Boulder County Extension Office and was secretary for Boulder County 4-H, retiring in 2006.
Dee was a member of Longs Peak United Methodist Church. After retirement she worked part time for the Longmont Museum and Boulder County 4-H. The last two years she judged at the Boulder County Fair.
Dee is survived by her son, DeWayne D. Hasenkamp and wife Louann; a daughter, Tamara Hasenkamp; two brothers, Ronald Darnell and wife Judy and Michael Darnell and wife Karen; five grandchildren, Mary, Natalie, Alexandria, Michael and Jackson; and one great granddaughter Grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gerald Hasenkamp on August 14, 2007.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 24th, at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Dee will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25th, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Longmont Humane Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
