Martha Mae Hartman, 80, of Burlington, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Bickford Cottage in Burlington. Born September 12, 1930, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Samuel Raymond and Frances Pearl Sturhahn Willson. On February 9, 1951, she married Wayne J. Hartman in Burlington. Mrs. Hartman was employed in her youth at the Palace Theater and J. S. Schramm Co. She was a homemaker most of her life, and took great pride in her home and family. She was a 1949 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a longtime member of First Congregational Church. She enjoyed reading, walking at the mall, and spending time with friends. She had volunteered at her church and Great River Medical Center-Klein Center. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Vicki Cameron of Shawnee, Kan., Nancy Hartman of Olathe, Kan., and Cammy Kelley of Burlington; three grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Willson of Blue Grass; three sisters, Lynda Murray of West Burlington, Betty Hightower of Burlington, and Maryann Cochran of Redlands, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Visitation will be from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Hartman will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with the Chaplain Harold Schutte officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Hass-Thielen community room following the burial. A memorial has been established.
