Judith Ann McCulloch , 76, of West Burlington, died at 7:45 PM Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born August 29, 1940, in Pontiac, IL, she was the daughter of George Washington Day and Vera Etna Smith Day. She was the youngest of 8 children. She married Gerald W. Smith in 1958. They later divorced. On August 29, 1986, she married Robert Lindele McCulloch in Burlington, Iowa. He died January 11, 2011.
She graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1958.
Judith worked for Dr. Eccles and Dr. Mosley for 19 years and KBUR for 2 years.
She was a life member of the Marine Corp League Auxiliary, serving as State President for two years; a member of First Christian Church and Hend-Co-Hills Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, friends and family. She and her husband, Robert, enjoyed camping and traveling in their motor home for several years.
Survivors include one son, Mitchell (Joni) Smith of Cumming, GA; two daughters, Kristy D. Dillon of Marion and G. Michelle (Ken) Russell of Burlington; one brother, Donald (Kay) Day of Bayou LaBatre, AL; six grandchildren, Jami (Shaun), Sarra (Dakota), Ashley, Aly (Ryan), Nico, and Samatha (Jake); and 14 great grandchildren, Ryan, Chloe, Kyler, Logan, Caden, Rowan, Raigan, Irys, Johanna, Hazel, Jacoby, Mason, Kota, and Joella.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kimberly Duque; three brothers, Gene R. Day, George E. Day, and John L. Day; three sisters, Marjorie Ellen and Hallie Avis and Wanda Henson; and one granddaughter, Kristal Smith.
Visitation with the family present will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Judy will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home with Chaplain David Plooster officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home immediately following the service. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
