Obituary
John J. Andrews, 77, of Burlington, died at 6:30 pm Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at his home. Born April 8, 1927, in McDonough County, IL, he was the son of James and Ethel Cale Andrews. He married Marie Kohler on June 3, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa.
Mr. Andrews was employed by the U.S. Postal Service working on the Railway Post Office and at the Burlington Post Office. He retired in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Germany. He was an avid gardener and woodworker. He enjoyed feeding the animals, birds and was Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife, Marie; one son, John F. Andrews and his wife Sarah; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will begin at noon Friday, April 8, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service for MR. Andrews will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, in the Chapel of the Hass-Thielen funeral home with Reverend Car; J. Engstrom officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
