Raymond LeRoy Andrew, 82, of Burlington, died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center. Born Aug. 17, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Tom and Helen Jenkins Andrew. On Aug. 17, 1944, he married Dorothy Parrish in Burlington. She died Jan. 4, 1988. Mr. Andrew worked as a custodian for the Burlington school system. He was a member of Burlington Baptist Church. His hobbies included fly fishing and woodworking. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Knak of Burlington, and Shirley Huffman of Seabrook, Texas; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Andrew and Jack Andrew, both of Burlington. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one grandson. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Mr. Andrew will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with Pastor Kendall Adams officiating. Burlial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Burlington Baptist Church.
