Mr. Ralph "Buck" Lee Hanson, 83, of Washington, Pennsylvania died at 10:13 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015, at Hillsview Personal Care Home in Claysville, Pennsylvania.
Born March 10, 1931 in Oquawka, Illinois, he was the son of Harold Ted and Nan Jesse (Honsman) Hanson. On December 24, 1953, he married Judith "Judy" Grace Robinson in Burlington. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2005. On March 12, 2011 he married Estella Mae Brees.
Mr. Hanson was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a diesel mechanic with H.B. Greene Trucking and maintenance supervisor for Churchill Trucking, Sharky Transportation in Quincy, Illinois and Viking Freight in San Jose, California. He also had done concrete construction work.
Mr. Hanson was a member of Parkside First Baptist Church and West Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of the Teamsters International and the Laborers Union. He was very active with his church families and loved spending time with them. He also served as a deacon. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Hanson of Washington, Pennsylvania; three sons, Michael Hanson of Burlington, David Hanson of Petrolia, California and Steve Hanson of Denver Colorado; two daughters, Terry (Hal) Carlson Look of Glendale, Arizona and Kathy (James Robertson) Inghram of Burlington; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one sister, Martha McDavid of Spokane, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, two brothers, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, February 9th, at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Mr. Hanson will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 10th, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Jackman officiating. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
