Helen Ruth Weicher, 94, of Burlington, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born Sept. 20, 1910 in Burlington, she was the daughter of James Patrick and Anna Christine Scheu Hanrahan. On June 17, 1935, she married Alfred A. Weicher in Burlington. He died Nov. 27, 1997. Mrs. Weicher was an accounting clerk at Iowa Southern Utilities for eight years. She was a member of SS, Mary & Patrick Catholic Church and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include three daughters, Judith Reardon of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mary Beth Bennett of Burlington and Barbara Wolf of Lakewood, Colo.; one son, Michael Weicher of Burlington; 14 grand-children; 21 great-grandchildren' and one sister, Eileen Riffle of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will follow the rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends to 8:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Weicher will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at SS, Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
