Obituary

Miss Deborah "Darby" Jane Handrich, 58, of Winfield and formerly of Northwood Home of Hope Haven since 1989 died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield. Born March 27, 1954 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Jack and Dorotha Griffith Handrich. Miss Handrich worked at Hope Haven Activity Center for 22 years. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Royal Neighbors of America. She was an Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved football, baseball, going out to eat, especially for a hamburger, fries and diet Coke at McDonalds. Survivors include four sisters, Jacquelyn A. Chubb, Judith L. Locke, Sandra K. (Jack) Howell and Linda C. Garmoe all of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and grandparents preceded her in death.
Friends may call from noon until 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 23rd, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. The funeral service for Miss Handrich will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24th, in Lunning Chapel with Pastor Rick Biedermann officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Hope Haven and Sunrise Terrace Care Center.
