Obituary

Jack Handrich, 58, died Monday Aug. 18, at his home at 1618 Aetna St. Mr. Handrich, an employe of the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, was born July 26, 1917, in Burlington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Handrich. he married Dorotha Griffith Dec. 9, 1939, at Yuma, Ariz. Mr. Handrich was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran church and of the Carpenters Union, American Legion, VFW, Carthage Lake club, and Des Moines County Assn. for Retarded Citizens. Surviving: The wife; five daughters, Darby, at home, Linda Garmoe, Jackie Chubb, Sandra Howell, all of Burlington, and Judy locke, Olds; and ten grandchildren. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sheagren funeral home, Rev. Harold Bostrom; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial to Des Moines County Assn. for Retarded Citizens has been established.
