Wilbert "Willie" O. Anderson, 77, of 2830 Winegard Drive, Apt.58, Burlington, died at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 1996, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Born April 18, 1918, in Knox County, Mo., he was the son of Frank S. and Florence S. Rhodes Anderson. He married Jennie Opal Odell on Jan. 26, 1945, in Burlington.
Mr. Anderson was a maintenence worker for Sweetheart Bakery for 13 years, retiring in 1964. He was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church, Woodman of the World No. 33 of Omaha, Neb., and Northeast Iowa-Illinois Amateur Radio Club.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dennis Anderson of Davenport, Garry Anderson of East Peoria, Ill., and Larry and John Anderosn, both of Burlingtonl six grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Anderson of Seaside, Ore.; adn two sisters, Gladys Duggin of Edina, Mo., and Geraldine Smith of Kirksville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers and four sisters. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Anderson will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Benjamin officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for West Hill United Methodist Church and Hope Haven.
