Jennie Opal "Opie" Anderson, 92, of Burlington, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Great River Medical Center - Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born May 18, 1921 in New London, she was the daughter of John Cleveland and Bessie Laveda (Hester) Odell. On January 26, 1945 Jennie "Opie" married Wilbert "Willie" O. Anderson in Burlington. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1996.
Jennie worked at Midwest Biscuit from 1938 - 1950 and then worked in production for TRW-IRC from 1960 till 1981 when she retired. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society.
Survivors include two sons, Garry Anderson of East Peoria, Illinois and Larry Anderson last known of Keokuk; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dianne Cunningham; two sons, Dennis and John; two sisters and three brothers.
Memorials have been established for Hope Haven and West Hill United Methodist Church.
